Foundation Ethics and Responsibilities |
|||
Sua Foundation believes that charity is an act of kindness from one person or community to another person or community. Kindness that comes in the form of money should not be shared between the beneficiary and an intermediary. As such more than ninety-five percent (95%) of all monies we raise go directly toward the intended purposes. The balance is used to cover bank charges, money transfer fees, postage and office supplies. There are no paid positions on our staff. The office we occupy, the founders donated including its furniture and equipment. The firm that prepares and files our annual reports to the IRS does so free of charge because the owners believe in our ethic. Sua Foundation also requires that beneficiaries of all programs contribute to their success. Community members are required to donate resources such as land and labor for projects in their community and students on our scholarships are required to maintained a minimum of 3.0 GPA each semester. Thus, we have built relationships of honesty and trust among our donors, beneficiaries and ourselves. |
